El intempestivo ofrecimiento realizado por el Espanyol de Barcelona a Gerardo Torrado construye un escenario en el que sea cual sea el desenlace, habrá intéreses lastimados, resentimientos y declaraciones cruzadas. Acostumbrados como estamos a querer mandar jugadores al extranjero a como dé lugar, es natural que una buena parte del medio futbolístico apueste porque el mediocampista cementero aproveche los reglamentos de FIFA para enfundarse la camiseta del conjunto catalán. Al Cruz Azul, pocos parecen apoyarlo, pero resulta entendible su postura.

El trillado objetivo de internacionalizar el futbol mexicano ha entregado menos cuentas de las esperadas. A manera de tierra prometida, se llegó a pensar que en el momento en que futbolistas nacionales emigraran al extranjero, los resultados iban a llegar como consecuencia de una madurez futbolística y de una mentalidad indomable. La seductora teoría, sin embargo, ha redituado utilidades a cuentagotas y añadido un escaso tiempo de trabajo para nuestra representación nacional.

En el caso de Torrado, es fundamental dejar de lado los terrenos generales, en los que así como se ha ganado en determinados rubros, se ha perdido en otros, y decidir si vale más el respeto al proyecto deportivo de una institución o la natural necesidad de un jugador por encarar la recta final de su trayectoria con un reto mayúsculo y que es a todas luces deseable para un hombre que desde hace años luchó por jugar en el Viejo Continente.

La confrontación entre individuo e institución se presta para emitir diversos juicios. La Máquina cuida sus intereses y comprende que Torrado, sobre todo por cuestiones de tiempo, es un jugador insustituible. Eduardo de la Torre realiza su labor y busca a toda costa que el jugador permanezca, pero me queda claro que Gerardo no continuaría con la misma disposición y que nadie es indispensable dentro de un grupo de personas.

Ante el dilema, y tomando en cuenta las circunstancias, considero que las armas están del lado de Gerardo Torrado. Si él decide que sus anhelos son más grandes que el compromiso con el conjunto de la Noria, debe irse, pues el reglamento avala que jugadores con un contrato que expira en seis meses puedan emigrar a cambio de una compensación para el club afectado. La cuestión moral es punto y aparte, porque así como el futbolista estaría quebrantando la continuidad y el respeto a lo acordado, Cruz Azul cerraría la puerta para que uno de sus máximos referents de los últimos años cumpla una de sus aspiraciones.

Dina Lohan attended the New York City premiere of Bride Wars last night. As we know from the photos earlier, Ali Lohan was in LA visiting big sister Lindsay at the time.

Bride Wars stars Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway and is a fun “girl” comedy flick. In the movie, Liv (Hudson) and Emma (Hathaway) are best friends with the same dream for a lavish wedding at the Plaza Hotel. Unfortunately, when the hotel is double booked, the girls drop all niceties… they go to war.

I didn’t notice from the photos last night, but Ali Lohan was among the entourage of friends hanging out with Lindsay Lohan at H.D. Buttercup! Like Lindsay, little sister Ali Lohan was wearing a plaid shirt (blue to Lindsay’s red). As Ali & Lindsay & friends ate lunch at La Dijonaise after shopping, we could see that Ali’s wrist had “calm” written across it (I’m assuming written vs tattoo).

Lindsay Lohan and her entourage of friends were spotted out today doing some shopping at H.D. Buttercup, a furniture store.

Lindsay was with quite a larger group of friends than we normally see her with - I wonder if they are there to protect Lindsay from the paparazzi (because of the rumors).

And speaking of rumors… Lindsay Lohan & Sam Ronson are STILL TOGETHER!! Lindsay, quite exasperated, posted to her MySpace tonight that she and Sam Ronson did NOT break-up.

Lindsay had to fend of many friends and family members calling and emailing after all the gossip. She said it was rather annoying, but the most important sentence was this one:

“We did NOT break up!”

Access Hollywood and Radar are reporting that a “source” close to Lindsay is confirming that Lindsay Lohan & Samantha Ronson have broken up. The source reports that Lindsay has moved out of her shared apartment with Samantha and into a place on her own.

Just over one month ago, Lindsay posted to her blog to dispel rumors of a break-up and later told her fans that she’d tell them if ever it were true:

“if we ever ever did…. i would say it before they could even think of asking. i’d say it here probably… i say everything here on myspace.”

So, I’m hoping the rumors are just that - rumors! Stay strong Lindsay!

Lindsay Lohan was spotted out with a friend and her dog on Sunday afternoon. Lindsay was very simply and comfortably dressed in black & white, and still without Samantha Ronson at her side. The couple have not been photographed together since their return to LA and the reported fights. I believe Samantha is still in LA, although perhaps she went to visit family in New York? Her posted DJ schedule doesn’t have her booked until January 15th in New Jersey.

Si tuvieras que elegir un periodista o personaje al que le gusten los deportes, pero que no tiene como principal ocupación informar sobre esta actividad. Me refiero a nombres como Toño Esquinca, Facundo, Micky Huidobro, Enrique Peña Nieto (por su extrema pasión por los Diablos Rojos…

Espero sus aportaciones.

-Jean Beausejour se apunta como la contratación más efectiva del América. Rápido, vertical, con buen toque de pelota.

-Entre más veo a Vera, más pienso que hubiera sido mejor que saliera él y no Insúa.

-La defensa del América se comportó a la altura, aunque les falló la marca en jugadas a balón parado.

-Falta comunicación entre Robert De Pinho y Salvador Cabañas. No tengo del todo claro si lograrán compenetrarse de la forma adecuada.

-Destacado regreso de Luis Ernesto Michel. Me gustó verlo tranquilo y dando indicaciones a su retaguardia.

-Tanto Sergio Amaury Ponce como Carlos Ochoa serán refuerzos cumplidores. Nada extraordinario, pero sí aportan y no desentonan en términos de la dinámica que acostumbra el Rebaño.

-Ángel Reyna también cumplió. Estuvo participativo y con muchos deseos de tomar el esférico.

-Espero que José Martínez tenga más minutos. Es un elemento capaz, habilidoso, al que a veces le falta tocar la pelota antes de que le caigan los rivales.

-Me hubiera gustado ver en acción a Andrés Chitiva.

-Considero que Chivas y América podrían cumplir satisfactoriamente en caso de acceder a la Libertadores.
